Door locks

This is the locking handle for cold room hinged doors: the part that shuts the door under gasket pressure, locks it from outside, and releases from inside.

Four models cover the range. HS-1189 is the stainless steel locking handle at 2.5 kg, the standard choice where the room is washed down or the environment is damp. HS-1189P is the same handle in high pressure die-cast zinc at 2.3 kg, used where cost matters more than corrosion resistance. HS-1210 and HS-1211 are the locking handles with a fluorescent knob - stainless steel at 1.1 kg and die-cast zinc at 1.8 kg - and the fluorescent knob is a practical detail on a cold store: it makes the handle visible in a dim room and in a power cut, when the internal lighting is out.

All four are packed ten or twenty sets to a carton and are designed to work with the matching safety latch, so the handle and the latch can be ordered as a pair for a new door.

The important point when specifying is the combination: a handle without an internal release, or a latch without a safety release, is not acceptable on a walk-in door. The locking handle should always be paired with a cam-lift safety latch such as HS-1188 or HS-1199.

Fitting notes: adjust the strike so the door pulls up evenly against the gasket rather than at one corner, and check the lock cylinder turns freely after installation - a lock that binds is usually a strike alignment problem, not a cylinder fault.
