Solenoid Valve EVR Series

The EVR series is the wider solenoid valve range, from EVR3 at the small end to EVR40(S) at the top, covering 2.2 kW to 503 kW on R404A and R22. That takes one valve family from small condensing units up to industrial pump-circulation circuits and large cold stores.

Flare versions (EVR3, EVR6, EVR10, EVR15) cover 1/4 inch to 5/8 inch; solder versions run from 1/4 inch to 2-1/8 inch, so the range fits both split-system tube and plant-room pipework. Coils are available for DC12V, DC24V, AC110V, AC220V and AC380V, and the electrical part is separate from the body, which means a coil can be replaced without opening the refrigerant circuit.

The valve is rated for -40 C to +110 C media temperature, 40 bar working pressure and 100,000 cycles, and is compatible with R12, R22, R134a, R404A, R407C, R410A and R502 - the same specification as the C series, so the two ranges can be mixed on one system.

Because capacity is published per size and per refrigerant, selection has to start from the required capacity at the working pressure difference, not from the pipe diameter. On pump-down circuits the valve must also close against the pump-down pressure, and on hot gas lines the available differential is small, which usually pushes the selection one or two sizes up.

Installation: coil uppermost, flow arrow respected, strainer upstream, and on the larger sizes support the body independently of the pipework so vibration does not load the solder joints.
