Compressor & Motor Parts

The parts around a compressor decide how long the compressor lasts. A run capacitor holds the correct microfarad value or the motor draws more current in the auxiliary winding and fails early — which is why a replacement must match the rating, not just fit the case. An oil gauge shows the difference between oil pressure and suction pressure, the number that actually protects the bearings; a compressor running with low net oil pressure fails in hours, not months. A vibration absorber takes the movement out of the discharge line before it work-hardens and cracks at a braze joint, and it has to be installed so it flexes rather than resists. A distributor splits liquid into equal parallel circuits so the coil feeds evenly, and the nozzle has to match the expansion valve capacity — a mismatched nozzle is one of the most common causes of a coil that ices unevenly.
